The island of Sviyazhsk is located 30 km from Kazan in the picturesque part of the Sviyaga River on a high hill with an area of about 62 hectares. Sviyazhsk – it’s historical and cultural gem of the Republic of Tatarstan. Abundant nature, surrounding shallow, waters of bays and islands attracted people since ancient times. This is the first Orthodox city in the Middle Volga region, founded in 1551 by Ivan the Terrible. The ancient fortress served as a military outpost in the Volga region and the place of rest and preparation of military units to march on the impregnable fortress of Kazan. After the capture of Kazan Island continued to live. In Sviyazhsk the spirit of the history and life is felt in every monument, street, back alley. Among the complex of churches and monasteries of the city there are those over which prominent medieval architects Ivan Shiriai and Postnik Yakovlev worked. For several centuries, Sviyazhsk was an all-Russian Orthodox shrine.
The tour route includes a unique historical monuments: the Cathedral of Holy Virgin, one of the oldest wooden churches of Russia – the Church of the Holy Trinity, the current Assumption Monastery with its 17th century architectural monument, the Museum of Sviyazhsk, Stables and workshops, a walk through the county Sviyazhsk.

If you come to Kazan, please try our national pie “echpochmak” (pie filling: meat, onion, potatoes, pepper) You can say it is just a pie the usual dough, the same meat, the same potatoes, onions ... What else can you invent? But cooking this Tatar pie “echpochmak” or noodle soup, chack-chack (sweet honey dish) and Gubadia (delicious sweet pie with rice, dry gapes, eggs, and red cottage cheese) tourists can learn the secrets of Tatar national cuisine during lunch under the guidance of an experienced Tatar chef.
The Chak-Chak Museum
The Chak-Chak Museum is a place where you will plunge into the atmosphere of Tatar life and feel like guests in an old Tatar family. Here you will learn the secrets of making chak-chak, will be introduced to the utensils used in the past, and discover something new in seemingly familiar things.
They say that the Tatar may not eat but definitely have some tea! Here you will drink aromatic tea from a samovar, try chak-chak, baursak, Tatar pastille, as well as an old forgotten dish that we saved for you.
Sightseeing tour of Kazan and visit to Lady Ushkova’s House
Going on a sightseeing tour of Kazan, you will get the most complete picture of the city and its attractions. As you make your journey through Kazan’s millennial past, along the historical streets of Kazan, where ‘East meets West’, you will discover the city’s incredible historic monuments. Kazan city tour is an entertaining trip with sightseeing of such iconic places as Kazan Kremlin with its beautiful Kul Sharif mosque, the magnificent Blagoveshensky Cathedral, Soyembika tower, famous for its legends and tales, The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, and many others.
Lady Ushkova’s House is one of the most luxurious mansions of the early 20th century in Kazan, it was built as a wedding gift by the merchant-industrialist Alexei Ushkov to his bride. Each room is decorated in a special style: the Chinese hallway, Napoleon’s hall, the Turkish smoking room and the grotto room. Today it is the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan with ancient manuscripts and old books. It is a place for some cultural events.
Tour to Raifa Monastery (depending on the number of participants)
There is a holy water in the chapel consecrated by the Patriarch of All Russia Alexius the Second. Many people come to the icon of OUR Lady of Georgia with their misfortunates, sorrow or looking for Her patronage. Raifa monastery is situated in the forest protected by state. It is unique middle Volga region natural reserve. The Monastery was founded in the 17th century. Nowadays it is active. Ten years ago it was restored. There are some souvenir stores, cafes, pilgrims’ house near the monastery.

St. Petersburg is the former capital of Imperial Russia, home of the Tsars and one of the world's most beautiful and romantic cities. St. Petersburg was founded by Tsar Peter the Great in 1703 on the banks of the Neva River and the Gulf of Finland. The entire city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is full of beautiful palaces and monuments including the Winter Palace. The city is also known as the Venice of the North because of its location on various islands in the Neva River and its many canals and bridges.
During the City Tour you will see the most remarkable sights of the city on the Neva river banks and you will get plenty of unforgettable impressions. You will get acquainted with the history of St. Petersburg and will learn how it started and developed. Peterhof Palace And Park Tour
