How to reach Kazan
Kazan is one of the most important logistics and transportation hubs in Russia. The distance between Kazan and Moscow is about 800 kilometers (505 miles). Thanks to the favorable geographical location, Kazan has a well-organized transport system that connects the city with federal regions of Russia and countries abroad. The city boasts a comprehensive transport system of railways, highways, airways and river routes.
By Train
The cheapest but still comfortable way to get to Kazan is by train. Kazan can be reached from any major city in European Russia and it is also possible to go through Kazan on the Trans-Siberian route. The duration of the train trip to Kazan from Moscow is about 11-13 hours , from St. Petersburg is about 1 day.

The train brings you to the Kazan center , not far (10 minutes by taxi) from the conference venue. The railway station was renovated by 27th Summer Universiade (summer 2013) and is now user friendly with signs in English.
By air
The Kazan International Airport is located 26 kilometers away to the south-east of the city. It was also fully renovated by the Summer Universiade-2013. The flights are carried out by the following airlines Aeroflot, Lufthansa, S7, Turkish Airlines, Fly Dubai, Ural Airlines, Smartwings.
The airport handles numerous daily arrivals from Moscow to Kazan departing from one of the three major Moscow airports Vnukovo International Airport, Sheremetyevo International Airport, and Domodedovo International Airport.

The city center can be reached from the airport by bus, Aeroexpress (local train) or by taxi. Aeroexpress (connected with Terminal 1 and Terminal 1A) goes directly to Kazan railway station, which is located in the center of the city. Travel time is 28 min.
